Well, I've been going to this hair stylist for haircuts. They're pretty cheap, and they do really nice haircuts, much better than all the other places that I've been to that charges over twice as much. For $10, they even wash my hair twice, before and after. But everytime I go, the stylist kept urging me to dye my hair. This time I gave in.. and I thought it couldn't have costed more than $10 anyways, so I just went for it. But then afterwards when I went to pay, I went through a moment of shock. FIFTY EIGHT DOLLARS for a friggen hair dye..
So did I get ripped off?

$58.00 is cheap in good places.

i pay almost that much for a haircut.

Coloring and perms START at about $100 in many places.

Depending on where you're going, that could be perfectly normal...but with your normal price being $10, it doesn't sound like a big salon or anything, so yeah, you got ripped off. big time. :)

did you get a tint, a semi or a permanent color?

was it all over or did they use a skull cap and crotchet needle? Or just a brush?

Why would you dye your hair because the stylist wanted you too?

Do you get suckered into the mall Gypsies too?

They did the brush.. it took like 5 minutes. They had this bowl with two gobs of dye in this white liquid. It looked like a red stool and a brown stool :Q
Yeah then they had this hair baking thing that I had to sit under for 20minutes.

I was actually considering it a bit since I have a lot of gray hairs. The hair stylist seemed really good. She doesn't rush through the haircut like many other places I've been to.

nope, that is usually what i pay when i get my hair highlighted... they do a cut (18) and then a partial male highlight (40)... sounds about right.

the white liquid it to strip the color out of your hair.

the colored ones are the dyes. they mixed too colors to get a natural look or used one color and the other is hair treatment.

:)

Anyways, my GF friggen got her hair styled there for this dance for $60, and that's with TWO hours of work too. I can't see how a 5min hair coloring can cost as much..

Yeah, that sounds about right for a good dye.
