how much does a dvdr actually hold?

backing up like 30 gigs of files...need to know how much a regular "4.7" gig dvdr disc actually holds...thanks.

I get only 4.45gig on SONY DVD-R's with the IBM Ultra Slim Bay Multi-Burner.

Err, technically speaking, they hold 4.38 GBs...so you may want to keep them below that to be safe.
