Ugh. Bring in your own snacks/drinks. Brings the cost down a little bit.

It cost $12 to $14 here in York Pa. What really sucks is that most of the new kids movies are coming out in 3D and all the kids hate wearing the stupid glasses. So you end up paying a ton of money for a movie the kids don't enjoy. I wish they would stop making movies in 3D. The whole 3D thing is being pushed on consumers so hard and most have no clue what it really is.

I have a friend who bought a 3D tv and when I asked him what kind of 3D he had no clue, further more when I explained there was 2 kinds of 3D and neither was a standard yet he realized his expensive TV might not work in a year because it's not the standard.

No idea. I have a 61" tv and blu-ray. I have not dealt with the high prices and crowds in several years.

$15.50 I think? Not really sure because 3D is retarded and a waste of money.

About the same. I will say that 3D is mostly bleh though, particularly for movies. For the Imax documentaries and such, it can be really cool. The best 3d thing I've ever seen was U23D, which has immaculate RT reviews. My ex-wife, who _____HATES_____ U2 even loved it. It was more real than real, if that makes any sense. Simply spectacular detail and the effects were mesmerizing. Saw it on a really really good actual Imax theatre though. I imagine it would lose a lot of the wow effect in regular 3d theatres, and no home system ever made would be able to equal that massive curved screen and multi-megawatt sound system.

This is why I go to the movies only 2-3 times a year. And I always bring my own candy if I go.

I also have no desire to see anything in 3D so I have no idea how much that is. Regular tickets are $10 at the nice theater here but I usually try to go at the matinee times when its $6 I think.

Sunday morning, first showing of the day (typically starts at 10:30-12:00.)

3 of us can go for ~$25 for Real 3D. Less than $20 for regular shows. This is the only time I watch movies.

there is a theater just down the road from me that has $4 tickets. It takes a month or so longer for them to get the movies than the expensive ones. With popcorn and pop its $20. Still not cheap but not bad.

No 3D though :( I really want to see Tron 3D and Jackass 3D but there is no way I can justify spending $50 a piece.

it pisses me off having to pay an extra 70p for something I'm not interested in, so I can wear stupid glasses. I just skip it, always.

$12.00 for a evening 3D showing, or $8.50 for the 2D.

I always go for the 2D option.

They have a $3 "upcharge" for all 3D movies.

The standard rate is $9 adult and and $7 child for an evening show. So $12 and $10 for 3D evening show.

I know IL has a state law that requires owners to allow you to bring in your own food/drink. Most don't know this though.

I know that every place around here that sells food has a sign that says something about it being illegal to bring outside food or drink in.

The movie theater popcorn lobby strikes again!
