How much do you think this truck will depreciate in one year?

I entered for a 2009 100 miles and tried to load the packages as close as I could, Excellent Condition, trade in value and it came back at $32,625 from the listed $51,272.

People who buy a pickup truck like this either have money to burn or just have no clue.

And on the other end of the spectrum, why are 15 year-old Ford Rangers so expensive? Was there something magical about the 1993-1995 model years?

I always wonder how these guys can afford these behemoths... What will the owner be able to sell it for in a year or two? 25000-30000? Very extreme upsidedownness?

Every car will seriously depreciate in the first two years. Look up depreciation charts for any luxury car for example and compare the percent that depreciates and this. The difference is that no sane person buys an F-250 as an every day car. These are work trucks, within 2 years they'll easily have 100k miles on them and nobody is going to give a damn what it's worth as it was abused enough and served its purpose to the contractor that bought it.

That truck I listed looks like it has all the bells and whistles. Cannot imagine pouring concrete and then getting in there to drink Chai..? Looks like a lexus inside. High dollar charlie contractor truck maybe? I can understand a work truck with vinyl seats and vinyl floor..

the truck i listed is probably more for an equine breeder with cashola and uses it to pull his high end donor horse to the breeders....lol.

The 2500 trucks seem to do worse than the 1500 trucks in depreciation. It's assumed that you'll beat the hell out of them for work or towing while some the more pedestrian ones can be quite pampered.

You don't buy a truck like that if you are concerned about resale value. You buy them to do a job, and do it well. At 36k miles, it isn't even broken in yet. What a waste...
