How much do you think space technology will advance?

How far do you think we'll get, at all? I mean, we will probably end up killing each other and destroying the planet or something, but how far will we have advanced, as far as space technology is concerned? Right now, I think we're still at a relatively primitive stage, if you ask me.

What do you guys think? Where do you think we're headed? What kind of cool new technologies should we see coming up in the future?

nasa (and other groups) is working on advanced propulsion techniques which should be faster than conventional combustion.

we're not just primative, we're like duh, wtf is that red ball? (when referring to maaars)

right now, if we were invaded, we'd be dead.

we are actually "Ready" to colonize the moon. technology exists...

We are indeed very primitive in terms of space travel. We havent even send a man(or woman) to all the planets in our own solar system, how are we suppose to travel further? We havent even done the most basic things, to find out more about OUR system.

if anything on this planet is advanced its space travel. The shuttle is an incredible machine even if it is restricted to be a placing satilites. Regardless the technology behind the shuttle blows away everything that procedes it. Basically the only restriction is $ right now. Because the Soviets stopped being our enemies the government shutdown the extremely well funded Apollo missions. Since then NASA has been scraping their budget for all its worth but they don't have nearly enough resources to develope some of the really cool stuff.

I think in 10 years, we'll be exactly where we are now with the international space station possibly complete. The Mars manned mission will still be a distant dream, and the only benefits the space program will bring to you and me will be freeze-dried ice cream, Tang, foam mattresses, and amazingly strong car wax.

When "A.I." comes out, go see it. That is where our society will eventually end up.

We won't be far enough considering the amount of money we shell out for it.. I'm not against space exploration but why does it have to cost so much and proceed so slowly.. Did you know that the new space stations computers are the equivalent to 486 computers? That's ridiculous..

I guess paying people to do the actual research and building the labs and facilities to do it cost the most, as well as giving people training, etc etc.

I saw that they are planning a new Mars rover deal. This one has some kind of camera on it so it can decide where it wants to land.(???) If it does actually land on Mars maybe this time it won't slam into a few big rocks before it can take some pictures.
