That's actually incorrect. She would be under-weight at that point. Check any BMI calculator. Although those aren't set in stone, I highly doubt that would be a realistic weight. At 5'6", she could weight up to 140 and still be perfectly healthy. A better weight range would probably be ~120-130 for that height. Maybe a little bit more.

I agree. I was going to guess 220 based on that. The picture is crap, but the gut is clearly bulging. I'd bet that she also has a fat face, which is why she left it out of the pic.

BMI is not a useful or healthy indicator of how much someone should weigh. at all. by any stretch. that isn't why it was created and it should never be used for that purpose.

second, the chick in the pick looks fine.

if it were me, i'd say a 5'6" woman could look great at upto 250lbs depending on her curves. At the same time, I perfer anyone 5'6" to weigh something like 160 as a minimum. There is a point where women stop looking like women and start looking like men when they loose too much weight. There's nothing wrong with looking feminine and womanly, and people really need to get over the whole craving for androgynous human form to the point where all women are encouraged if not ridiculed into loosing way more weight than they should.

There's also nothing wrong with weighing much less either ... its the cultural encouragement of a singular goal for all rather than the promotion of individual health and positive body image that is disgusting.

also ...

this thread has to be shens. i just can't help but get worked up over the issue.

Nice edit. I was a little peeved that you originally said 5'6" women weighing under 160 was a crime, and would look like a man. :)

it all depends on your frame.

Not quite. 110 pounds on any 5'6" frame is underweight. There's no question about that. I usually don't like to use the BMI, but it's useful when determining people who are underweight. It's less useful for heavy since people can very easily have a ton of muscle and be "overweight." However, there's a point at which your body is functioning less than optimally due to it being so small.

However, I think this thread is useless because 1) the OP seems proud of the fact that she's more overweight than she may look, 2) refuses to take better pictures so we can better help, 3) doesn't ask for any way to remedy the fact that she's overweight. She just wants to know how heavy she looks.

If your 5'6, judging by the size of your arms, I guess around 200-210. You should be no more than 145 or so.

We can't see much of your thighs or hips (two areas were women accumulate extra *padding*)

1. 178
2. Very subjective, but a good weight for a fit person your size is probably 140 or less.
