Do you really expect to get an accurate answer from that picture? You really don't want an accurate answer, do you? It's kind of like asking someone if they think the Audi R8 is a good looking car, but only showing them the front clip.

yeah i can believe it. i'm not trying to be funny either. pic doesn't show ur legs, which also plays into ur weight as well.

as far as how many pounds u should lose, focus more on toning up and not what the scale shows. :)

I'm always a bit confused when people say "tone up." You really have two options: 1. Lose fat, 2. Gain muscle. (and the opposite of each). If you want to lose fat, you need to burn more calories than you take in, but don't cut calories by too much. To gain muscle, you need to take in more calories than you burn. Obviously you can't do both at the same time, contrary to popular misconception. And of course proper nutrition is paramount.

Anyways, there's a fitness forum if you're interested.

"tone up" = losing the obvious *fatty* areas

A bit more than what would conform to my notion of an attractive body. Not that I think you can't possibly be good looking with a body like that, but you would look better with less fat on you. I've always thought that measuring progress by weight is dumb though. What you want to lose is fat volume while gaining a bit of lean muscle which would naturally make a common bathroom scale tell less than the whole story. Your best progress indicator would probably be the bathroom mirror IMO.

Could you do me a favor and answer the following questions:

A) How much do you think I weigh?

All I know is no matter what I answer it'll get me in trouble.

I definitely think you should. Cutting your comfort foods will goes miles towards helping with this. Also, start working out. No need to run or anything, just do speedy, power-law based workouts. I spend no more than 25 minutes about 3x a week and am building great.

oh and,

"yes that makes you look fat"

but it's really not your fault, the majority of Americans' ideas about health (thanks to the billions spent on government research) has given us a diet which is not healthy for us (lots of starches and breads). Can't be held responsible for what you don't know.

You definitely do not need to take in more calories than you burn to gain muscle. A little muscle stress releases the growth hormone which drives muscle growth. Eat your meats and fishies and vegies and no starches and don't eat after working out (replenishing your glycogen stores immediately decreases the growth hormone response, also insulin which obviously results from eating (especially from eating starches and breads) acts as an antagonist to the growth hormone response and diminishes the muscle growth after workout). Just ensure you're getting enough amino acids and you'll build the muscle AND burn the fat at the same time.

That's actually incorrect. She would be under-weight at that point. Check any BMI calculator. Although those aren't set in stone, I highly doubt that would be a realistic weight. At 5'6", she could weight up to 140 and still be perfectly healthy. A better weight range would probably be ~120-130 for that height. Maybe a little bit more.

You need a picture that shows your face, and one that has you wearing a form-fitting shirt.
