I love alone. I spend about $50 a week on groceries and $20-30 a week eating out.

Updated the OP with my last grocery list, and amounts I can save by cutting out what you've suggested cutting out.

The prepared food is obviously expensive. If you're going to buy prepared food, might as well go to a restaurant.

I live in Toronto, go to a not too cheap grocery store and these items strike me as unreasonably expensive.

7.99 Cindy's Greek Feta Cheese Salad Dressing
6.49 Fresh Squeezed OJ (1quart)
6.79 Chicken Fingers, from deli. 9.99/lb

$10 a pound for chicken fingers?? REALLY???

Good. That crap isn't that great for you anyways. I went to 100% water and there's no looking back.

I will try to locate a ghetto-er supermarket too. This market is obviously a yuppie place, but it happens to be the closest one, and has free delivery to my location. The problem is that all other markets are pretty far from here, too far to walk with groceries. What I do now is bike to Union Market and bike back home without the groceries. They deliver them to my door about 15 minutes later and I tip like $3.

~$400 for the two of us. though lately we have been going shopping only for groceries to last 2-3 days at a time. I think it is saving us, I guess we'll see at the end of the month.
