How much do you spend on food each month?

I've been living on a college campus the last few yrs, and have been using their meal plan. I wanted to move off campus, and wanted to get an idea of how much i'd spend on food each month. This would basically be mostly groceries, and going out on occasion (beer is not factored into this 🙂).

I spend probably about $40-60/month (groceries only, I don't eat out). I'm a cheap bastard and I'm also trying to lose weight, so it works pretty well for me. 😛

Depends how you can cook and what you like to make. I spend anywhere from 250 to 300 depending on what I'm in the mood for. In the winter months it should be cheaper since you might want to make more soups, stews, and chilies.

Right now.. zero. Food is free where I'm at 😛

But when I'm at home, my wife and I spend an easy $500-700 a month on food. Its to good not to!

1 Box of twin pack honey bunches of oats w/ almond is about $10? I go through 2 boxes of those for breakfast a month. I go through 2 gallons jugs of milk every 2 weeks. That's $4 a gallon. Lunch and dinner averages out to around $5 x 40. I try something different on weekends, so that's $10 x 8.

$20
$8
$200
$80

$308 Total/Month.

Usually less than 200 bucks. I try to buy things that are on sale at the store, but you cant always do that.

I spent about 600 a month, which figures to about 6.6 dollars a meal. It's just not worth the effort to do grocery shopping, to cook and to clean plates/pots/pans. I cant do the $200-300 budget because I like variety in my meals.

Hmmm good question. i'm not really sure.
I go out to lunch maybe 2 times a week, $5 each time. thats $40 a month
The rest of the time I spend $2 on lunches I bring on avg. Thats $44 a month
Breakfest is pretty cheap, cereal/protein shake/oatmeal. $1.50 maybe. $45 a month
Dinner is really random. Anywhere from $2-15, usually around 2 though. lets say $4 on avg. $120 a month.

Total is $250. that sounds about right.

probably $100 ish. i do eat out quite a bit, but its usually like cookout or bojangles. mabye one or two nice dinners a month. Less now that i dumped my GF. 😀

haha im the same way. too much work to cook, and the food sucks. so i eat cheap fast food. i manage to probably spend around $400 a month im guessing.

about 300. i usually eat at cafeterias during lunch and at my apartment during dinner. campus food costs a lot. 🙁

$0. Ok, maybe $10, I don't buy morning coffee, run home for lunch or starve until I get home. Sometimes when I can't take it, I buy something cheap like a hot dog. This is due to cheapness and me having no job. When I was raking it in during the summer, spent about $10 a day on lunch...ugh.

I spend around 800-1200/month maybe more on food.

I am also an idiot when it comes to girls and money so ...
my weaknesses... and I am usually doing the two together.

what I mean is I eat out a lot with girls and im an idiot who always pays

I used to spend about ~$600-800, but now since I moved to organic only, its more like $2000-$2500. All you have to do is set your priorities right, before getting luxuries like BMWs, jewerly, etc.
