How much do you spend every month eating out?

How much do you think is an acceptable amount of $ to allocate towards eating out?

How much do you spend on groceries?

My wife and I rarely eat out...maybe once a month, so figure $50-$100 depending on where we eat. :)

I am trying to stop. I used to spend like 100-150 bucks a month, now it's more like zero...it's the life of a broke college student

i spend a lot on junk food. let's see...

fast food: 4-5 times a week @ ~$8 per = ~$40
groceries: hmm. ask the grocery getter ;) KIDDING... est. $200 / mo?

not sure what the acceptable amount would be.

this reminds me... we have some Red Lobster gift certificates at home that i'm dying to use. mmmm

EDIT: for the record, this is the third straight day i have brought my lunch to work (frozen Michelina dinner  ) and it feels like 78 years since i've eaten fast food.

we used to eat out quite a bit. but that wastes money....

and now, we usually go out to nicer restaurants in which we know the experience will be good...nothing worse than eating out and wishing you ate at home.

at work...maybe out to lunch once a month now.

Too much, but much better than several years ago.

we each eat out for lunch a few time a week then maybe a cheap dinner out once a week and one meal a bit more $$.
probably around ~$300 per month. maybe a bit more. that is on average.

Heh, I was eating out for lunch every day until my wife and I moved. It's amazing how much I save now by taking the 5 minute drive home for lunch. :)

My GF and I probably eat out once a week, sometimes something nice, sometimes something quick and easy. We usually take turns paying. Given that I also eat lunch out everyday at work, I'd say I spend somewhere around $80-$100 a week on food (non-groceries).

Yikes. I should try and cut down. Not like I'm desparate for money, but I'd have some more if I brought lunch occassionally.

I cook dinner every night, but the gf and I usually go out to dinner at least once a week, plus I eat lunch out at work 3/5 days a week. I pay for groceries, about twice a month at about $150 per trip.

I'd say around $500-600 eating out for dinner and about $100-200 for lunches between the both of us, so...

For me, personally:
$300/mo groceries
$350/mo eating out

about $300. But that is for a family of 5. I think I will tell them to eat at home for a couple of months so I can go get a new TV.

Yeah, my wife can't drive home for lunch either. She packs her lunch the night before and takes it to work.
