My wife was saying that $65 for spectrum 100 mbps/unlimited was to much.

So if you could kindly reply with:

Provider
Speed
Unlimited or capped
Price

Thanks OT

$120, "25 mbps", unlimited

Average speed is closer to 10 mbps.

Tell your wife to STFU.

I pay $172/mo for FIOS TV with 3 cable boxes and 75/75 internet. It also has a phone line but I've never hooked up a phone the 6 years I've lived in this house. Not sure what the breakdown is though.

My modem is a Netgear CM700 - 32 x 8 bonded channels...on paper that should make a noticeable difference over an older modem with less channels...

$65 for Spectrum 100/10, always get 117/14 or so.

Why would anyone buy their own modem for Charter? They supply one for free. I've had to update it twice in the last 4 years, cost me nothing, and they mail it to the house too.

I think it's absolute BS that you have to enter in an address in order to see pricing. Should be the same exact price nation-wide.

Comcast
250/15
Unlimited, but they have that stupid data chart on my account page with a "cap" that is currently suspended of like 300 or 500GB
$92.95/month

The pricing for the other tiers make zero sense...

15/? - 49.95/month
60/? - 74.95/month
150/? - 89.95/month
250/15 - 92.95/month
400/? - 99.95/month
1000/? - 104.95/month
2000/? - 299.95/month

I'd love to be able to switch but I can't.

Charter included the modem fee in their monthly bill...spectrum/time warner/comcast does not....

$74.89/mo for 50mbps down / 30mbps up fibre to the home (going by my bank statement so that's after taxes etc). The base price is higher though, I get a discount because I work for the company.

Comcast Xfinity
60/5
1024 GB monthly cap
$49.99

This was a deal I was able to get by talking with someone on reddit at /r/comcast_xfinity. Before that, I was paying $77.45 for 70/5, which was a grandfathered tier no longer offered.

Municipal fiber is being deployed by our city and is expected to begin rolling out next year and take three to four year to be fully deployed. I expect it will cost between $50 and $70 for symmetric 1 Gbps.

Here's the current rate chart for Xfinity internet-only service in my area. I've been tracking Comcast's pricing for the last five years and (not so curiously) this year, in which our city voted to deploy fiber, was the first without a rate increase.

Performance Starter 15/2 $51.95
Performance Plus 60/5 $66.95
Performance Pro 150/5 $81.95
Blast Pro 250/10 $96.95
Extreme Pro ?/? $111.95
Gigabit 1000/35 $126.95

I was on FIOS 100/100 for $40/mo, should have stuck with that. After getting gigabit, was up to ~$105/mo.

$40/m I don't know I think it's ~20mbps but I don't know. Overall it downloads fast enough for me and can stream some basic stuff.

I don't care if they make fiber available in my area, I would still stick with whatever is "good enough" and significantly lower. I might be willing to upgrade to fiber for $50-60/month... definitely not $80+ like most of them want.

Xfinity Triple Play - 230 channels, Show, Starz, Cinemax- $218/month ($139+$51 devices+$ xtra.fees). :(
For some weird reason. the Xfinity internet promos (prices and speed) offered in Chicago is not available in my location (25 SW of Chicago).
My next door neighbor has tried DirectTV, Dish Network and AT&T, but eventually went back to the devil called "Xfinity/Comcast" because the previous 3 services "sucks".
FIOS not available.

I would love to cut the cable since I have Netflix, Hulu.. and usenet sources, but some documentaries/sci-fi./live news are not available. Roku with Pluto TV is nice.
Looking at this thing called IPTV.

300 Mbps/18 Mbps capped to 1024GB. :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Spectrum. 3mpbs for $15. It really isn't enough but if I wanted more going up even a single notch would quadruple the price outright. I can't afford that. :(
