only if your apartment doesn't face south.

if it does, you can get satellite. the FCC has ruled that apartment and coop boards cannot restrict what's placed in your apartment.

they might not want you to place it on the roof, but you CAN place it on your balcony, or stuff.

nothing. i don't like the idea of paying to watch television with ads. the only tv i would consider paying for would be porno or certain sport events like playboy mud wrestling.

About $90/month for extended cable and Internet. Don't watch TV much myself, but the Internet access is all-important. :D

I wonder why cable is so expensive. I mean, they get the channels for free, right? 1 million subscribers at $50 a pop is $50,000,000 a month.

Their operating costs can't be that high.

channels for free??? bwahahahahahahahahahah!!

do you know how much HBO charges for the broadcast rights?

YES network charges $2+ per subscriber for the rights to air their product. You have 1million subscribers... you do the math.

Wow, what a rip off. Wouldn't more cable companies pick up a channel if it didn't cost them anything? I work at a radio station and every national network program we air is free. I can't see paying for them (like Rush, Jim Bohannon, etc).

The difference is that you don't charge your listeners. Cable providers need subscribers, and to get subscribers they need to offer lots of channels. The networks know that, and make them pay.
