At my last job, roughly the same.
12 hour shift and work was one mile away on an open road.

That's probably the #1 thing I liek about my current, job, it's close to home, so I don't waste a bunch of time and gas getting here.

I have a 5 min commute and work exactly 8 hours a day (not a min longer)

So my rate is exact

After adjusting for ATOT browsing time, I come up with ~$2300/hr

Actually that 10 mins throws it off ;)

I'm not sure how I'd calculate it. A lot of times I'm compensated for drive time but I know it doesn't cover all of it. I probably still tack on an extra 3hrs of drive time per week if you adjust everything.

I got this job right before I signed for the loan for my house that is ~45mins away. But the job is so good it's worth the drive (paid OT, 27 days PTO / yr), it just sucks because I lived literally 12mins away from here before I moved.

But on the flipside, my neighborhood is awesome and the area I live in now.

Work ~9 - 4, 1 hour commute each way. 9 hrs total. Based on what my check is every two weeks (so after tax, health care blah blah blah):

$19.75 :(

Not even coffee worth....there

Lol, if 10 mins of your work doesn't even buy you coffee, you're well below that $15/hr mark you balked at. Even 10 mins at $15/hr is $2.50 and that is plenty to buy some coffee.

You actually lose more to that time the more you make. Again, this is just math.

That's not too bad if it is AFTER tax & check deductions aka take home pay. You can live pretty well off that around here.

Live about two blocks north and two blocks east of work.

It takes about seven to ten minutes to go from my bedroom to the 11th floor at my work.

I take my bike to work. Otherwise, it takes much longer to get there.

When I used to travel a lot, road time was clock (billed) time so there wasn't a separate calculation.

I've been offered more money, but I'd rather have days off vs. a higher salary. Not working and getting paid > working and getting paid more.
