How much do you know about Win2k?

Hi,

I am currently using win2k in my new computer. My question is how can I learn as much as possible about this OS? Is there a place on the web? Does win2k create a different ip address for every user? I have about 4 users in this computer and the first time they logged on they had to connect to internet even though I, as the administrator had already connedcted to it? Does this create a different ip address for every user?

Thanks for the input!🙂

What exactly do you want to learn about the OS? It will be easier to find answers to specific questions rather than just searching for "Windows 2000". Or, you could pick up a 2000 certification book, that will teach you a LOT.

In response to your other question, 2k creates a profile for every user that logs on, but it doesn't affect the IP. In the new profile, that user simply hasn't completed the internet setup wizard.

Hi,

I am interested on general stuff about Win2k, so I could be able to troubleshoot my pc, and also able to get the most out of it.

thanks for the input!🙂

Assuming that you are still using the stock IE 5 that comes with W2K, then when you first start IE or double-click the Internet Connection Wizard, if you select "Cancel" from the opening screen, it should bring up a dialog asking if you want to actually cancel, and it should also have a check box to "Do not show this Wizard again". Check it, and then tell it to go away, permanently for that user. 🙂
