I'm taking bets on some liberal talking points that will be made in the OP ED pages tomorrow, linking the death of a Civil Rights icon with the confirmation of Alito who the fear mongers think is going to roll back the clock on civil rights. I'm not one to point out liberal bias, but this seems like a perfect opportunity for them to manipulate her death.

okay how much? nobody is going to make that connection in the papers tomorrow.
your "perfect oppurtunity" will slip away as it is a foolish connection, mark my words.
why don't you call into the Rush Limbaugh show and suggest it to a fellow right winger?

Actually, I can't stand Rush Limbaugh.

All I'm saying is that the same talking points by both party affiliations have become so predictable that you can almost see the way each situation gets manipluated.

that is cool, all I am saying is that it doesn't make sense and the media has enough material to bash bush about that it doesn't have to make some fat fetched reference. they might as well connect the Alito nomination to Wilson Pickett's passing too with some remote and insignificant link. besides connecting the two would bring in and play the race card when it really has no place in this. IMHO the last 2 supreme court appointments threaten the rights of Americans of all colors and not just the brown ones.

Pat Robertson will link the two. He will say God punished Coretta for saying (or even thinking) negative things about Alito.

While I don't subscribe to the notion that there is a left or right wing media bias, it is no secret that several Democrat leaders capitalized on the recent MLK holiday to throw jabs at Alito...there it is not unreasonable to assume that they would do the same during the ceremonies to mark the passing of his widow.

But there isn't really a need for this thread, as there are multiple examples of both Republicans and Democrats capitalizing on sensationlism to make political points at inappropriate times.

What an amazing stretch, unless Coretta had a stroke when she learned about Alito. :p

Anyway, stop trolling.

Now that, I'd bet on, unless his PR people have finally muzzled him.
