My g/f wants to take a trip there as a birthday gift for her son. She makes very good money so it's a trifle for her. And while I'm by no means poor I'm hardly Donald Trump either, so Disney tickets may be a luxury I might not be able to afford considering I just bought a house (the plane fare is about $250 so that's doable). I believe that money is there to be spent, but want to leave as little of it with the Pooh Nazis as possible.

About how much should I reasonably expect to need to budget for this trip (5 days). Also, if anyone out there knows of any good deals I'd be grateful to hear about them.

I think it was $52 last time I went. They probably have some multipass special for $150 or something, look around. And especially at this time of year, it'll be PACKED.

Meals will cost u $8+ (sandwich with chips).

Disneyland is definately not run down. After Pressler and Harris were forced out of the company, the park has definately gotten better. Especially now, with their 50th anniversary, the park is cleaner and more beautiful than ever. How many days are you going to spend at the Disneyland Resort? Their Park-Hopper tickets are a real good deal at the moment, and you definately do not want to miss Disney's California Adventure, no matter what some people have to say about that park. Space Mountain officially opens on July 15th, with Disneyland Park's official 50th on the 17th. Space Mountain should be "soft-opening" throughout the first half of July. This just means that before the official grand opening of the attraction, they open it to test it, to make sure the kinks and such are out before opening day. Right now, cast members are getting their first chance to ride the new Space Mountain...

I really like California Adventure. In the summer it's probably a 1 day thing. It's only half a day or less when the lines are short. Disney Land is 1-2 days, depending on lines and whether you want to do absolutely everything.

Knotts Berry Farm is also in the area and is very neat. There's other things to do in the area, many a lot cheaper then an amusment park, and even more if you expand to LA.

We're getting 4 day park hopper tickets for $129 adults/$99 kids from the Anaheim Hilton when we stay there next month.
