How much do those Macy's sales rep make?

Jsut a pondering thought. They're always in full suits in jewelry / suit section.

Not a lot, most of their $$ comes from commission. Probably like $10/hr starting? and maybe 10% commission (which on a suit and jewelry adds up)

I made $10 an hour sitting in a campus lab doing jack squat in my near-pajamas just surfing the net and occasionally refilling printer papers.

Macy's reps are dressed so nicely. Not just semi-formal, but full blown suit and tie. They look so sharp. For them to wear that EVERYDAY and make so little is quite sad.

They make $10 a hour. When I was a kid, I thought the people in Sears department store made a lot of money because they were always dressed in suit and ties, now I realize they probably sleep on the street or with 5 roommates because their wage isn't even liveable.

I got a job at a shoestore one time and was required to wear a long sleeved shirt and tie to work every day. The pay was crappy and I stayed about a week before picking up a job doing some type of cleanup or construction for more money.

Also remember that just a suit isn't just a suit. Most people can't tell the difference from a $150 suit to a $750 suit without really paying attention. Many bargain stores sell suits really cheap too. Often my street clothes (which I wore to the office alot) cost more then most people's suits ($200 jeans, $100-200 shirt, $200-500 blazer, etc) but if you stood me next to a $150 suit, most would think the suit costs a lot more. It's also how you wear that suit too and what you buy and where. I've seen people mackin a $200 suit/dress outfit like they spent $1000. The right tie, jewerly, and the way it's worn can make a big difference on making you look richer then you are.

I had a friend who worked for a department store (men's fashions) and they gave them cloths for each season (like $600 worth). He also made a flat rate plus commission of 6%.

I wanted to take a new $500 sport jacket to a trip with me. Needed it in a rush so I went to a local tailor. They freakin butchered it. Made the jacket look like a $70 blazer from the mall.

I like my Diesels and G-stars and they were probably made in indonesia anyways 😛 I balance it out by getting alot of free designer clothes from photo shoots. It pays to be fit model size. ^^

I knew a few people who worked at Macys. From what they told me, it was long hours (come early to set up, stay late to clean up) and they did not get extra pay for those extra hours.
