I noticed one parked at a neighbors house yesterday...can't believe people would pay for that.

Kid at my job just got a second job at BBUy on the Geek Squad; he's making $10/hour. Not bad for clean, inside work.

from one of the links..
The Geek Squad charges flat rates for services. A complete operating system repair runs $229, virus removal goes for $159 :Q , and setting up a wireless home network is $159 for the first computer and $50 for each additional computer. Telephone support also is available for $29.99.

i work for the geeksquad, and i make 11 bucks an hour. started a couple of weeks ago. i only work inside the store though. some of our prices are:

desktop HD backup - $89
format, reinstall OS - $59
ram / video / network / etc. card install - $39
cleaning out computer - $29 (we've already had like 3 with roach infestations :disgust: )
diagnosis to find what's wrong - $59

minimum charge for an on-site visit at our store is $159. we set up in-home netoworks for $159 (two computers, every computer extra is $49 more).

btw, after working there for two weeks, here's what i've noticed - if you're computer un-saavy, the PSP is worth it. you pay $129 for the PSP, and if you get adware / spyware on it in the three year period, we'll do the restore for you. if a HD goes bad in the three years, its replaced for free. anyone with some tech saavy - not worth it. but a lot of people can't do anything with computer except go on the internet and browse, and for them it is totally worth it.

Software issues are not covered by the PSP and there are different prices for each computer. Depending on what the computer costs that's what determines the price of the PSP.

Back to the original question our double agent at the store ahs to make between $18-$22 an hour.
