How much do power phases matter when OC'ing?

My Asrock Z97 board broke down now I'm in need of another.

I'd like to know what matters most? Quantity or quality?

I've been eyeing the asus Z97 A and E but I was wondering if there are better boards for cheaper since here in Canada, your 100 dollars is our 3 billion.

I was hoping to get a Z97 E for 110 but I'll have to see if NCIX will follow through on it.

I currently have a G3258 and my albeit functioning Asrock Anniversary is still chugging along, the PCIe x1 slots aren't working so my wifi adapter has taken up the one PCIe x16 slot that remians. :(

All I want is a cheap quality (oxymoron) board that won't break down.

I've never really had a board "break down", at least not while I was using it. I would investigate power issues. (Bad flaky PSU, bad AC power, etc.)

Quality over quantity. Too many and they aren't being used optimally. For Skylake at least I think 8 is more optimal than 16. My mobo's "optimised" vrm setting even disables half of them so only 8 are running.
