Ben Carson came to speak at my college. That guy is awesome.

probably alot since they can find the place where you remembered paying them beforehand and cut it out. hehe

$500,000-$1,000,000 depending on the "job"

But you then have to take out taxes, and malpractice insurance. Neurosurgeons have the highest malpractice premiums. An Emergency Neurosurgeon I heard about in the news made close to $1million a year, but after Uncle Sam and malpractice insurance got a hold of him, he only brough home $250,000. That was working an exorbinate amount of hours, so he quit because he could make the same or more with a lot less hours doing something else with his knowledge.

Yeah, they make on average I think around $200-300k or so. People forget about the whole malpractice insurance bit, and how much it actually costs. My step-father's a thoracic surgeon, and his malpractice is more per year than my mother makes...and she cleared nearly six figures last year.

Must be an Asian thing - my parents gave me Gifted Hands to read too, in the hopes that I'd become a doctor. I really respect that Ben Carson though, I saw an interview with him after that failed operation to separate the twins conjoined at the head and I thought to myself that he's exactly the type of doctor I would want to be operating on me.

I have to get malpractice insurance for my spring semester. Fortunately, it's really cheap since I'm a student (clinical psychology).

Occupation: Student Psychologist
Limit: $1,000,000/$3,000,000 (individual/aggregate)
Premium: $35.00

It's not the money, it's the recognition...

I work @ a tecahing hospital & we had one neurosurgery fellow that would ALWAYS tell anyone who would listen: "I'm a brain surgeon."

neurologists make a bit less but have time to have lives.Btw you want to talk about smart, those guys are like a different species than the rest of us.
