how much do line/prep cooks make in your area?

i'm a line cook. i do pantry and prep. for those who dont know, pantry is salads, sandwiches, cold stuff, and in my specific restaurant; nachos, pizza, rolls, etc.

how much do pantry/prep cooks usually make?

How old are you? Several friends of mine (~16 y/o) work in food prep (Einstein's bagles, cusin's subs) and the pay is pretty sub-par @ $5-6/hour starting

Here in Portland, OR I've seen ads for $9.25/hr with at least 3 years experience.

Beginners make around $8/hr.

Minimum wage, which is $6.90 here in Oregon as of January 1st, 2003 due to the passage of Ballot Measure 25.

Maybe I didn't understand. By line cook, I thought you mainly meant fast food workers. Taco Bell, Wendy's, etc..
