Overseas and inhouse rates will be different.

Much may also depend on the geographic location.

Yep. Adoption can be anywhere from free to costing $10,000+. And to hop onto my little platform, I really recommend that people look into local adoption through the foster care system before looking abroad.

In the state of Kansas, if you adopt from the local foster care system, the child gets free health care until they are an adult.

This is so LAUGHABLE.

Yes if you want a 3-4 year old then go for a child in foster care. Also I hope you are prepared for the VERY probably issue of attachment disorder. It is almost absolutely going to happen in those cases.

As for wanting a child. Lets see the options. Public adoption. Good luck in getting a child in the next 5-6 years that is under 1 year old.

Private adoption. Yeah just what I want to do. I want to pay all the prenatal costs for a girl, getting all my hopes up, then at the last second have the mother change her mind. Then my heart is crushed and I am out a bunch of money. Not to mention that there have been cases two years down the road where the biological mother's rights trump the adoptive parents rights. Also, the situation in the original post about a father getting screwed.

SO yeah but no thank you on domestic adoption. I would rather go adopt outside this country until adoption process is fixed in this country.
