I get a paycheck weekly and I can view my paycheck that is dated for tomorrow already, but it is the same as it normally is. :(

Also dullard, don't you mean almost $3 billion per month, not $30 billion?

I'm not on salary so I'm not really sure and I don't feel like doing the math.
Not even sure I've been paid since this has come into effect.

No idea, but I do know that property tax, state income tax, sales tax, and a few other fees are all going up....so either way I will end up losing.

Along those lines, I just did my taxes and will be getting back $2700, due mostly to my medical deductions.
Of course, those totalled up to about $12,000, and that wasnt even everything. The VA took care of a lot of things too.

I need more money. :(

By the way, it won't matter whether you get it now, next week, or even at all. You'll still get it when you file your taxes next year. Basically lowering your tax rate (for 2009 and 2010) and giving you the extra money now (adjusting the tax tables).

As long as you qualify based on income levels, you'll get it back one way or another.

My company sent out an emailing informing us that we might need to update our W4's for tax withholding purposes

You shouldn't have to, this is all supposed to be based on your current W-4 and revised withholding tables.

Some people (especially people with large amounts of deductions, multiple family members working, etc) have adjusted their W-4 to take out the right amount for taxes. This could screw up what they've put into the forms.

+$22 over my last paycheck not counting the bonus for working presidents day... I get paid on the 15th/30th instead of weekly which probably makes a difference.

bonus plus holiday pay went right towards my credit card, which should be paid off after another 2 paychecks (then I can start rebuilding my savings... ugh.)

$500/year per worker. So, yes, that comes out to about $10/week.

The new stimulus was for $400 per worker (spread throughout the year), was it not?

I noticed around a $10 jump in my paycheck, but I had also taken my withholdings from 0 to 1 for state taxes, so I thought that was why.

Thanks!

Really? I'm getting like an extra $20 something a week.

This link seems to do a reasonable job of explaining how the credit is calculated:

My only question is - does earned income equal taxable income, or is earned income what you have before any deductions (i.e. 401k, the standard deduction, etc.)

I haven't gotten my paycheck yet but what ever it is it's going into my retirement account. If it's just $10 a week before taxes then a $50 dollar a month contribution should break about even. With the market down now is the time to buy if you're not planning on retiring for 15 to 20 years.
