I got a cheapass pair from walmart for about $100.00 it was my first pair so I hesitated on spending much. It's now time for me to get a real good pair. Whats the best place?

I think $300ish last time. I went with contacts, and it should be cheaper in the long run, especially when you figure in that I now wear $15 sunglasses instead of $100ish prescription ones.

Lens were $60, frames were about $180, clip on sunclasses were about $40.

Just saw on TV last night one of the chains is offering presc. glasses and "level 2" frame for $129 package
Level 1 is generic
level 2 is better (some name brands)
level 3 is "big name" brand

The ones I'm getting (ugh) were $179 for the frames + $26 for the photofade option. I don't know how much the lenses were, my insurance covered the full cost of the lenses + $157 of the frame cost. My total cost out of pocket was $46.

I've never liked the autodarkening ones, the transition always took too long for me. I have different preferences in sunglassesthen I do eyeglasses anyway.

Frames were 260-300 I forget the exact cost, and I believe that the lenses were covered by insurance, but not fully because I got the transistions...

omg, and i thought what i spent was a lot...

anyway, i was told my lenses would cost $60. i was shown a nice frame fit my big ass head for $115... =O

i thought it was too much, so i said no.

anyway, I need new glasses =( the lenses are too messed up on mine, and i want a new frame =)

that's a lot for glasses =(

i am 175/150 l/r =| not too bad, did not go up much at all over the years. i was at around the teens... but that was like 10 years ago...

Mine were $400 they are gucci frames, and the lenses have all this extra coating on them for anti reflective and all that stuff

Can't remember what (my dad) paid for mine (I've had the same pair since I was 14, just got my eyes checked every year since)... i think it was like $300 w/ lenses.

I'm gonna go buy some new ones this summer, I found a sweet pair of Nautica glasses for $317 with lenses.
