At least half? My cousin is about to buy a new car... but insurance cost is a factor that will decide which car it'll be. He'll turn 25 in a little more than a year... you guys think he should just wait then?

Pretty much zilch. I even called a few other companies. They all said the rates had gone up, so, I was happy they stayed the same I guess.

Can't remember...Too long ago (11 years). I've had a couple Mustang GT's though and my insurance on them was actually about the same as on my current car (2003 Nissan Maxima and a 1996 Isuzu Rodeo-I should cancel the full coverage on that POS though). I'm paying about $600/year on each.

Mine went from around $1k a year for liability to $350 a year for liabilty. My 5.0l mustang only costs me $450 a year and my van is around $330 rightnow at 28. I would hate to see what that mustang would have cost before the drop.

BTW mine dropped at 24.

Go down? That's a myth; one of many perpetuated by the insurance industry.

Its been 5 years for me but mine went down to $358 every 6 months from $588. That made me quite happy at the time.

Are the posters in this thread in cahoots with the insurance industry to perpetuate the myth?

Unfortunately for me I've got two years and a month or so to go. So I still get to look forward to a couple more years of ass raping, sans lube :(

Good golly, people. Ask your agent. They will tell you what age tiers exist and give you quotes for you current coverage at each age. Each insurance company is different; some may have 21 - 23 - 25 tier levels and some may be 20 - 23 - 25 or 26. Just ask your agent.
