How much did you spend on fireworks?

If I head to the Washington/Oregon border, what's the difference between an Indian Reservation and Blackjack fireworks?

$0.

I live in the dead center of town. On July 4, not only will I have two F18s flying about 200 feet over my house (I wasn't aware of the tradition last year, you can imagine my suprise...) but I'll have fireworks outside my window.

I don't shoot them off myself, because with my luck I'd get severely burned beyond recognition (which some would argue is a good thing. I hate those people. ;) ).

I hope this makes sense, I'm tired.

So does Oregon, nothing that flies or explodes :(

$50 won't be bad I guess for about 10 minutes of entertainment.

Ah, the good old days. Used to go to CHinatown in NYC (my pops would drive us in before we had our Drivers licenses). Spend $250 per guy. They making it real tough now, used to buy them off the mobsters most of the time believe it or not since Little Italy is so close. When I was real young, my dad used to bring them home in HUGE shopping bags.
Damn, I miss those days. I used to LUV shootin those things off :)

You wouldn't guess that by what's going on in my neigborhood. About 5 guys are already bringing out their mortars and launching them off.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the Indian fireworks have even fewer restrictions than the Washington ones.

BigSmooth you're probably right, as I've never seen any real fire-CRACKERS at Washington booths. Anyone know of reservations around Portland? I remember some up on the drive to Anacortes, but I was hoping for something closer. Maybe on the coast by the casinos?

I've never bought fireworks before, and I don't think I ever will if they are that expensive. That's crazy

Michigan has crappy legal fireworks so I spent about $15 on bottle rockets and firecrackers in Wisconsin.

The damn NYPD has guys working overtime to crack down on fireworks. The closest you can get them is PA now (I think). Chinatown was hit hard so many don't even bother with them. Most of the tiime the damn cops take the stuff they seize and bring it home to their kids...

I live next to a quarry so I have no problems finding a safe place to set them off. If I did that is, hypothetically, since they're illegal here. All I ever spent on fireworks was $20 in Kentucky on a pack of 1,264 Mad Dogs. (Kinda like ripoff Black Cats, though they work just fine) Believe it or not I actually brought them back in my suitcase on the plane. (This was before 9/11) I haven't really checked into the prices at the reservations here, but since I'm in Nevada reservations aren't the "havens of sin" they are most other places; casinos and fireworks aren't nearly as common on them. Maybe I'll swing by sometime though, see if they have any Ladyfingers.
