The cheapest I can find for a ticket from LAX to DFW is $350 right now... three months in advance! :Q

Bought about a month or so in advance off Expedia.

$2400 for AUS to KUL. and that was on a crappy airline with 3 layovers.

right now orbitz has that on good airlines (american and cathay) for $1200, with only 2 layovers. damnit.

About $275 for NYC (JFK) to Seattle (SEA) on American. Bought about 2 months in advance on Travelocity. To SEA was non-stop, from SEA had a change in Dallas-Fort Worth.

$250, San Jose to Raleigh-Durham, American Airlines through Orbitz, and $250 for San Jose to Nashville, also AA/Orbitz. Both round trip, about a month in advance.

And is it usually cheapest to buy tickets a month in advance? Would buying a ticket three months in advance be too expensive?

I flew from Birmingham Alabama to Toronto Ontario for 200 something return. That was 2 weeks in advance, cheaptickets.com, in January. I just went overnight!

My wife is flying out to Phoenix with her friend next month on Southwest. Non-stop both ways (flying from Birmingham), $185 a ticket if I'm remembering correctly.
