i'm a bit worried about my new cpu, the athlon
t-bird800mhz, as temperature is rising up to a constant maximum of 54°C/129°F after about 20 minutes since activating my system. when i run cpu-intensive applications it sometimes even reaches an absolute peak of 58°C, which thrills me, as all my previous cpu's were about 20°C cooler. the cpu fan is a standard athlon / socket a cooler rotating about 4600 times per minute.

so my questions are :
1. is this temperature standable for my t-bird 800 on the long view?

2. where can i obtain higher quality cpu coolers? all my local hardware dealers do only offer the standard no-name crap. any urls?

i ran mine with the boxed fan, it was 52C. if you want a cheap fan that is better, get the vantec one from 2cooltek, and maybe a delta 38cfm for it. it'll cost you $16 for the heatsink and 23cfm fan, and i think the 38cfm fan is around $12 more

thanks for the above information.
i've checked the computernerd page, and think i'm going to order the FAA7VX2 HEAT-KILLER, since it'll perfectly fit to my A7V motherboard.
if someone has practical experience with this cooling unit or knows where to read an objective review of the "heat-killer", please lemme know, tnx in advance.
