just a random thing this whole stock market downturn has me thinking about...

I've got about 3K debt to my name... 2K on my only credit card and I owe another 1K on the bedroom set I bought back in august when I moved (mattress, box spring, bed, dresser). I could pay it off today in cash if I really had to, but thus far, I've resisted the temptation of touching any of the money I've managed to squirrel away into savings for grad school when I finally get off my ass and apply to one.

I'm probably going to get my credit card paid off in February, though, and avoid making any big purchases (like the 4K laptop I was going to buy) for awhile.

mortgage debt, car debt, various credit debts. no need to plunk in a dollar amount. more than enough.

I guess technically I have a few hundred on the CC, but I pay it off in full every month and collect the rewards, so I don't think it really counts.

And that's it, really. I've been lucky...and frugal.

about 200K for the house, but that's not really debt as it's an appreciating asset. Being debt free rocks.

Between my wife and myself
Student loans: $50,000 :(
Car: $5,000
CC: $4,000
But both the CC and the car are higher than we thought they would be because my wife couldn't find a job right out of college. Now that she has one (and if we follow our plan) we should have 0 CC debt by May and the car paid off by July - course then I need a car. 250,000 miles is a lot for a Taurus

250K for my house, and thats it. I do have a balance on a couple of credit cards, but I dont count that since I pay them off every month. This is all the debt I plan to ever have. If I cant afford it in the future, I dont buy it. I busted my ass with 2 jobs for almost 2 years to pay off my cars/CC's, and dont plan to get back in that situation again.
