im about to graduate in four years.

i have 30,000 in subsidized federal loans

my dad paid 105.000 out of pocket for various expenses (everything from SAT registrations to application fees to tuition, to housing)

i estimate i need to pay back my dad half of what he paid.

so, i have about 82,500 to pay off :(

and i have yet to set foot in grad school.

65K total.
All undergrad work.
But 2 degrees from 2 different schools.
8 years of off and on part-time/full-time at 2 community colleges and 1 university to get my BS in general science.
That was a worthless degree so I got my shvt together and spent 2 solid years at another university to get my BS in Computer Science.

I worked as a full-time intern for 16 months... earned more than enough to pay my tuition for all 4 years of undergrad...

<$10k

Combo of working during school and a decent set of grants. Plus my parents refinanced their houses for tuition for my brother and I so I have a low interest rate for my remaining debt.

About $5000. I went to comm college for two years to cut expenses and such, and then my parents paid for one year, and living expenses for the next (part of that was payback for the three years I worked in the family business) and the loan covered my second year tuition.

$1K that i put on my visa for miscellaneous expenses. didn't really go towards college persay but it was from the purchases i did as a student. most of my tuition was free and parents covered everything else from housing to books.

After my undergrad degree, I owe around 15,000 in student loans. After my masters, I anticipate owing a total of $39,000. :Q

Could be worse I suppose.

edit: I also worked part-time for around 7 years. 5 of them with one company. Now, I'm working as a TA.

Hmmm, so how hard was it to get your MBA?
When I started the CS path, companies were still throwing money at anybody with the word computer in their degree.
Different story today.

Ok, this doesn't seem too bad. With working I anticipate about $12,000-$15,000 in debt after undergrad, and about $30,000-$35,000 total after getting my masters.

I'm not too worried about it at the moment. I'm sure I can pay it all off once I get a job. I HATE debt, but its a neccessity with me if I want to go anywhere (since my parents only pay for $1200 a year in tuition).

Don't feel bad, man. According to 2003 statistics, most students come out of undergrad with $18,900 in student loans/debt. So you're in good shape.
