I have an IWill KA266 mobo with a 1.4 GHz non-oc'ed AMD CPU, NIC, hardware modem, ADSL external modem. GeForce 2 MX400 video card, CD and CDRW, 40 GB 7200 rpm ATA100 hard drive, sound card and 256MB PC2100 DDR Ram. I have Windows XP Pro installed as the operating system. I am experiencing ocassiona freezes and have to restart or turn off completely sometimes. I am considering getting some high performance Mushkin ram to see if that helps. Do I need more than 256 MB? Any other thoughts appreciated

when it comes to RAM more = better, it depends on what you do on your comp. I'm running XP Pro w/ 512MB of RAM and currently have 170MB available, so if you can afford it, get as much as you can. But 256 should be okay.

There was an nice thread going on a bit back about 256 MB vs 512 MB, it was more or less split down the middle on which is needed. Check it out if you like here.

I myself prefer 512 MB RAM, I play games a lot and don't want RAM to have a possiblity of holding me back.
