How much data measured in bytes can your brain hold?

Wouldn't be able to measure it in bytes....your memory works so much differently.

Think about it. You can hear & see things, in your mind, memories of things you saw and heard would be huuuuuge files on a computer.

But at the same time, you would have difficulty looking at a 32 bit number(single word) and remembering it.

So when I hear things, does it remember in FLAC? And when I see things, do I remember it in RAW?

I remember seeing this answer on a show once. It was approximated to equate to about 100 terrabytes according to the scientists.

Don't ask me where or what show because I don't remember that part specifically because I was channel surfing.

All good answers. :)

Supposedly it can hold terabytes of information. How much can you access? Probably less than your jump drive can hold. Remember that it's your subconcious mind that holds everything, and accessing it is difficult, at best. Supposedly only people with "photographic memories" can access large volumes of information, and from what I've heard, even they have a time limit on how long they can accurately recover that info from their memory, without loss (corruption??) of data.

At the ripe "old" age of almost 43, I figure I can recall just about a half dozen floppy disks worth of info. Pron has turned my brain to mush!!

It's the equivalent of vector graphics I would think. You can store a lot but it probably isn't very accurate.

Are all the porn scenes I remember stored in DivX, or are they straight AVI? That would make a huge difference.
