I need to rig up an external fan and do not want to use another AC outlet. I have extra +12Vdc fans and would like to rig something up suing either the 5V from the PS2 port or +12 from the serial port on the back of my PC. Any ideas???

I am not sure but the serial I think is less then 20 ma, while the ps2 is about 5 volts at 100ma.
But since most fans run 12 volts (operating range 7-14volts) at about 68ma or above, you are going to have problem with either of these.
How bout just running a lead out of your case or make a cool looking plate with a lead in it that hooks to an expansion port?
