as you know the top of monitor is where heat leaves the monitor, and it should be free of obstructions. i have a 1.25 inch clearance between my top shelf of desk and my monitor

here is pic

when i put my face to my monitor, i feel lots of heat comming out.

is this enough space??

It'll be fine. If the monitor does overheat a little, it probably won't break it for about 10 years or so ;)

Although more space couldn't hurt, you should be fine. There seems to be enough space for the heat to escape toward the back.

Your pic only shows the front of the monitor, the back where the vent holes are should have about 5-6" clearance. I would have to say you are fine. If it were fully boxed in, then I would worry.
