im going to buy some case fans and im wondering if this setup is good

1 120mm 90 cfm in the lower front
1 120mm 90 cfm for the excaust in the back

1 92 mm 58 cfm on the top for intake

the intake would be 140 to 90 excaust

is that enough cooling?

no real way to put a CFM value on it...depends on your setup, etc.

i'd say your off to one heck of a good start!

(though you might regret having 2 120mm's running 24-7) (i.e. noise factor)

you're logic is correct in that one blows in front, one blows out back.

there's a lot of debate about whether a top fan should suck or blue..i'd say blowing in is the best, like you have it.

having a good cpu heatsink + fan combo will make the most difference though....

well the 120 are only 39 dba and the 92 is 38 dba

or how about 90cfm intake and 58 excaust?

is that cool enough for a case?

well, what are your system specs gonna be? how much hardware are you gonna have in this sucker? Do you wanna overclock?

2-3 cooling fans is more than most people run, and should provide more than adequate cooling.

that setup isn't exactly a huge heat producer. if you're positive the instability was from inadequate cooling, then you're making the smart move by replacing the HSF first. that's most important.

2 x 120mm fans and 1 x 92 mm fan is MORE than enough to cool everything

And 39 dba is LOUD!
Get panaflos or look at some other threads on this page for a few other quieter selections.

Panaflo would be best you want to keep the decibals about 30 or lower. This way you can hear yourself think. I find one 120 mm fan up front and one in the back. And a fan on the door works very well for cooling a case down

I really like the panaflo fans, good airflow and low noise. Since you are putting a fan in the top of the case, I am more incined to make that an exhaust fan since heat rises. Where are the factory locations for fans.

You might consider two Panaflo FBA08A12H 80 mm fans, they are 39.6 cfm each and only 32dBA for intake.

Let us know what type of case you have. Where are the factory locations for fans?

i just have a generic case with 2 80mm fan mounts in the lower front and upper back

is there anyother place to have intake besides the lower front without making big modications?

btw the intake would be 90 and excaust would be 58

One other thing - the best way to keep out dust is to have more intake than exhaust. Put a filter on the intake, and assuming the filter catches all the dust and the CFM ratings are correct, you have yourself a 100% dust-free case. :)

hey man one suggestion for your computer setup. Since you're system won't produce a tremndous amount of heat get 60-70 cfm 120mm fans. Like the Panaflo L series. Although there are other fans out there that you can buy. Just get a ~30dba noise rating. You'll be thankful =). try to a lower DBA 92mm fan as the smaller the fan the higher the pitch =), since the fan moves at more rpm.
