Far too much. Have been paying them down. Many CC companies will give you a payoff amount that's many times less than the actual amount owed. I don't need no stinkin' Consumer Credit Counseling Agency....

i think CC debt is a silly thing to have. my sister has 20k in CC debt. sheehs

Many CC companies will give you a payoff amount that's many times less than the actual amount owed

They sure will assuming you havent been paying them any money for several months, and they have all but written you off. Your credit is basically trashed from not making payments, and this will show up as "settled" on your credit report as opposed to "paid in full" or "paid under terms of agreement."

They will also mail you a 1099 for your taxes on the difference of the settlement and the actual amount you owed them.

Generally we pay it off every month. We have a couple thousand on there now from buying the latest car and I had to get money fast, so I advanced on the CC since savings would have taken a couple of days, but it will be paid by the end of June.

Was at ~$3,000. Paid it off finally and now buy almost everything on CC (gas, groceries, hookers) but pay the bill online twice a week--always keep a zero balance. Establishing credit again after being a drunken college student is a good thing.

I used to have about $3,000.00 on all the credit cards combined and pay it off at the end of the month.

We have been doing major house renovations, so I put $20,000.00 on the credit card in the last 3 months.
