I go to the gym about twice a week. Sure, there are some big guys who can't lift a whole lot, and some skinny guys who are stronger than they look. But the fact is, to bench press 300 pounds you need quite a bit of muscle mass. A friend of mine whose 6'2", 250 pounds who works out like crazy usually benches around 260. Another friend of mine whose 5'8", 200 pounds does about the same. Both of these guys are huge. They have enormous arms, chest, and shoulders.
This is
Tiger Woods. With twig-like arms, and almost non-existent pecs like that, you can't bench press 300 pounds. His skinny little wrists would snap in two under that kind of weight.
Furthermore, if Tiger Woods did put on a lot of muscle mass (enough to bench 300), he would become a crappy golfer. He needs to maintain flexibility, which is dimished by large and/or tight muscles.
