Hey everyone. I'm trying to sell off my old laptop I bought last year. Some of my relatives are interested in it, but I wanted to provide a good estimate of how much I wanted to sell it to them without selling too low or too high. I inputted my computer specifications on some websites that are telling me mine is around $220-270. I wanted to know what you guys think:

Gateway MT3707 - bought May 2007 for $599.99 at CC.

Intel Pentium Dual-Core T2300 1.6 GHz
1GB PC2-4200 DDR2 RAM (2x512 - single channel)
Multiformat DVD+-RW/CD-RW drive
14.1" WXGA TFT-LCD widescreen display
160GB Parallel ATA hard drive (5400 rpm)
ATI RADEON XPRESS 200M graphics
4-in-1 card reader: SD, MMC, Memory Stick and Memory Stick PRO
3 USB 2.0 ports
Built-in wireless LAN (802.11b/g)
10/100 Mbps Ethernet LAN with RJ-45 connector
High-speed V.92 data/fax modem
Weighs 5.2 lbs. and overall measures 1.4" thin

The laptop is very good condition. Nothing is broke or defective. I always take good maintenance of it by dusting and cleaning regularly. Battery seems good and nothing feels like it's going to go haywire yet. I think t should last for at least another 2 years. What price should I sell it as? Thanks!

MOD EDIT: No price checks. - Zap

All I can tell you is that for what you have, you really can't expect to get much for it. 50% loss is probably to be expected. Some brands hold their value pretty well (IBM/Lenovo, Apple, Sony at times) but the rest of them are a dime a dozen.

You have integrated graphics, a decent sized hard drive, 1GB RAM, no gigabit, no wireless n, a slow processor, and a DVD burner. I think that the estimate that the website gave you is accurate.

Most people are lucky to get 75% of what they paid on the sale of a used item.

no pricechecks are allowed, afaik
check for something similar in FS/t or on ebay and go with that. you could probably get more for it on ebay, but then youre dealing with...ebay.
