More than $55k

🙂 I have a friend that started at $55k in the DC area, and within 2 years he was making $65k. Take into account cost of living... it's quite high. And traffic sucks I understand.

In Research Triangle Park (NC) with experience, our programmers make from 65-ish to 80-ish. So I assume about that or a little more in DC.

Not sure about salary ranges, but I know there's a lot of government IT work. If you can pass a background investigation, you're pretty much set for life with stable employment.

ok, sucks finding jobs with little experience.

Yes, it does, particularly when there are more workers to go around than jobs. But I thought the job market down there was pretty good... have you had any interviews? Did you recently graduate, or are you graduating this year?

i'm graduating in dec.
had a phone interview for a php gig, playing the waiting game.
kinda frustrating that no one bothers to even read ur resume until u start calling and buggging them about it.
