How much better is it to use 2 sticks of ram on the Nforce 2 chipset?

I know that the nforce2 chip set has some special option to use 2 sticks of ram better than just using one (or at least i think that i know that). If this is true, how much faster is it to use 2 small sticks rather than just one big stick?

It's something like 5-10% performance increase if you're not using nForce2 integrated video. If you are, the benefits are much more substantial (50%-ish?).

If I remember correctly from when I actually tested it... it made about a 5% different in Soldier of Fortune 2... which is based on the Quake 3 engine.

It really depends on what apps you are running. Some will show an increase w/dual, some won't.

Soltek has a single channel nforce2 board that whups the Asus a7n8x-deluxe w/dual channel installed in about 90% of the benchmarks.
