How much battery life do you get on your cordless mouse?

What is usually the power source on cordless mice? Is it a AA or AAA battery? Whatever the power source is, how much battery life do you usually get out of it?

I ask because I want to use one with my laptop.

So, three questions

1. How long before you have to change the batteries in the mouse?
2. Cordless mice are compatible with laptops, right? (I can't use the trackpad... PITA)
3. If I use a cordless mouse with my laptop, will it interfere with my wifi connection?

I know this is a tad off-off-topic but help a brutha out, there's no traffic whatsoever on the peripherals forum :)

Not going to answer your questions because cordless mice SUCK. Look into getting a mini mouse for a laptop (I got a Targus mouse for $15 at BestBuy)

I have a logitech "Cordless optical mouse" just the standard 2 button.

I think the batteries last quite long, maybe 2 months? I just changed mine and i cant remember last time i did.

As far as compatability with a laptop, a USB port is a USB port is a USB port.

Mine is AA (2) batteries.

ONE RANT i have is that they dont turn the light off, when the mouse hasent been moved for ages, it just blinks the light. To me it would make WAY more sence to turn the light off and then wait for the user to click the buttons to reactivate it (Saving batteries from the light)

Gotta agree. I can leave it off the charger for a week before the light starts to blink. Best mouse I ever bought.

I get at least a month out of 2 AA battereis in my Logitech Cordless Mouseman Wheel. Anyways, you shouldn't have any problems using one with your laptop.

I use a Wireless Intelimouse Explorer. I feed it NiMH batteries that last maybe a couple months. I think alkalines would last longer but heck, I've got the rechargables so no biggie. I don't think it will interfere with Wifi.

To the person that complained the mouse won't turn off; this mouse only turns on when your hand is on it. Kinda neat.

I got an MX700, I recharge it every night. Never had a problem. I have it for a few months already.

I've got a rechargeable desktop mouse and a rechargeable notebook mouse. Sorry, but you probably suck more than they do...

mx700...so awesome.

I've never had it run out on me since I've had it...I would say it lasts about 1-2 weeks before I even notice the red light come on...then I just leave it in charger when I go out...i think it only needs an hour to charge, and it's good for forever again.

I love my Logitech cordless (not a mx700, some other kind). I can usually run for another month or so after it starts giving me low battery warnings (I just change them when the pointer starts jumping around)

MX Duo good...

I usually charge it when I'm sleeping or not using it...easy, just stick it in the cradle.

1 to 2 weeks? You must not use it for very many hours a day. Mine tops out around 5 days max before recharges. Great mouse though.

*edit* oh, and charges are about 3-4 hours for me. Doesn't really matter though when I just put it in at night anyway...
