we all know of the "mountains" of garbage some of our "recycled" computers formed in certain countries in the world. not to mention the toxic materials which pollute land, water, and air...

how much are you willing to pay to have that recycled?

//this is the most visited forum, and it certainly is a hardware ISSUE..

In the UK, don't know about the US there are charities where you can donate old equipment and then they set them up in poorer countries so the kids there can have some experience on a computer of some sorts....quite a nice thing really.

I have to assume you are not talking about operable equipment, but truly trash? In that case, you are missing an important category in your poll - the one that says "Zero" or "Nothing."
I recycle all my trash that fits the local criteria each week. It is part of my trash service. The recycler makes money from the waste material, therefore I would not wish to pay anything extra for his right to do that. If, on the other hand, you are talking about toxic waste, that is another matter, and generally is not "recyclable." So far this poll is not well thought out in terms of specific to where it means anything.
Yeah - it is hardware related - but it needs more definition. What's the difference between a computer monitor and a TV set in recyclable terms? What's the difference between a computer case and an ordinary tin box? Are we talking disposal, salvage, or true recycling? Scrap metal is scrap metal, and in most cases, is recyclable already as part of our trash service.
