How much are you making?

Just curious... I'm making around 35K right now... Just got out of college. Could probably make more but I'm in a job I really enjoy.

Right now I'm 20-40k with my promotion that was supposed to be effective in Feb that would push me easily into the 40-60k. Been out of college since December 2002 with a BSEE and now I work as a nano/microfabrication engineer.

I was offered $75K in LA 8 years ago - I turned it down for $60K in Colorado Springs and I'm sure I had a much higher standard of living here.

i make something over 35000, can't remember exactly off the top of my head. Anyone notice the poll chart looks like it is giving the finger?

i make $72 a month + living + food during the school year

sh!tty wages doing manual labor or no wages working as an intern...

clearing 200k is not poor. Please wake up and join the real world.

We live in NJ. My father is a self contractor and both my parents own a summer business. My parents do well but the cost of living in NJ is EXPENSIVE. Also, when you start deducting for business costs you'll see that $200k isn't really as large as it seems. For instance, the rent at my parents store is $80k. So immediately deduct $80k from $200k and you can see where I'm coming from. Now deduct utilities, wages, food, etc, etc...

My parents do well but they don't drive Mercede Benz. My father has a pickup that he doesn't pay on and my mom drives a 2 year old Nissan Pathfinder.

So he doesn't really clear 200k does he? He GROSSES 200k, and his net is lower.

huh? Then they don't *make* $200k a year. Also, why would they be spending their take-home pay on their business? Does the business not make any money?

Please don't take everything so serious. I was joking when I stated that we were poor. I guess it's hard to show that you're joking on-line. 🙂

Maybe I have a warped sense of what defines rich. Rich to me is someone who makes millions and who has a mansiona and drives a Bentley. Hell, Mercede Benz don't really define rich for me. I see plenty of Mercede Benz roaming the Jersey shore. Yes, the people who drive Benz have money but are they Donald Trump rich? I doubt it.

To be specific my parents grossed over $200k last year and made almost $100k. It was somewhere on those lines. Still not bad considering most familes gross only 60k a year.
