How much are those people holding signs at a corner being paid?

I'd imagine the pay isn't that great for the type of work. I wouldn't do it even if the pay is decent because I'll probably go insane of boredom after 30 minutes.

There is a tax place here that has these people go out in a Statue of Liberty suit with a toy guitar and act like they are playing.

Probably not much. It's gotta be even worse for the ones who have to wear some bullshit suit or crazy outfit while doing it.

See that every day while I drive through Garden Grove, CA. I just shake my head.

Most of them I see around here are what I assume are homeless people. But yeah, I'd have to assume they're getting paid minimum wage otherwise the store could get into some nasty trouble.

Most of the people I see are high school age.

I don't remember any who weren't Mexican. I imagine they picked one without self respect up from home depot. I wouldn't do the job.

(came into thread thinking OP was asking how much homeless with sign make)

it would seem that they are not considered "illegal" anymore....just "undocumented".

Yeah, I feel sorry for the guy who wears the chicken suit for the payday advance place in July/August.

I remember seeing this in FL when the temps were 100F+. Even in the shade, wearing one of those crazy outfits would be murder.

I feel bad for those in costumes. It is almost 100 degree down here and the humidity...stay inside for hours? yike.

Still questionable. If I find a sock in my room that is "undocumented" it goes back in my sock drawer with its buddies. If I find one that is illegal it goes in the trash... :)

If they take an immigrant and kick him out of the country when he's found then I think he'd still be called illegal. The politicians need to get their words straight. PC doesn't work when the nicer word sugar coats splitting families up.

I see these guys all the time around here with signs pointing to apartment complexes or new housing developments. The thing is, they are spinning that arrow sign all over the place and dancing with it, so I have no clue where the fuck they are trying to point people to go.

When I see those ass clowns sitting on the side of the road with the signs, my immediate thought is "I'll never go to that business to spend my $$$". Dont know what it is, it's just a huge turnoff to see some scummy, dirty, vagrant, meth addict looking dude standing outside the place. Why dont they just stick the sign in the ground with a stake? Why bother paying these losers in the first place?

A friend of mine worked a couple of weekends doing that for some new apartment complex at $20/hour.
