How much are those light timers to turn certain lights on and off?

Cheap as dirt for the rotary ones, check almost everywhere (hardware stores, electronic stores, etc.), the digital ones that control a lot of stuff (X10) can be found online or at R$.

saw some on clearance at radioshack b&m just yesterday....

can't remember the brand -- it wasn't x10 -- and I think they were 30-50% off...
can't remember the price either... sorry.

What kind of timers?

For the plug-in timers, anywhere from 10-30$. For the ones you install into a box, anywhere from 20-40$.

They're X10, just rebranded to Plug N Power (Radioshack's brand). Trust me, they're 100% X10 compatible.
