How Muc is the Performance Increase Between the i5-4670K and i7-4770K

The i5 costs $230. The i7 costs $310. How much is the performance increase? I bought the i7-4770K last month and starting to feel the i5-4670K is the same as the i7, if not maybe 5% faster.

The i7 is clocked 100MHz faster at stock which accounts for 2-3% and has more cache (8MB vs 6MB). The first four threads you run on the i7 should perform similarly to four threads run on an i5, plus a few percent from clocks and cache, while loading it up with eight threads can extract around another 30%ish.

Most (tech savvy) people can't tell a speed difference of less than 25%, even if they're looking for it, without using things like stopwatches, frame counters, etc..

What are you noticing a speed difference in?

The i7 only gets 2-3 fps more than the i5 with a GTX 780. Also, even without an SSD, the i5 AND i7 speed along startup and internet research with the i7 only ~1 sec faster.

Dude. No offense but why do you keep asking these ridiculous questions over and over and over. You can EASILY find this information with minimal effort by viewing benchmarks and reviews on thousands of websites, including this one.

Helping those with weird issues or specific use questions is one thing, but really, your question being so broad ...what the heck? Have you heard of a search engine called google? Or maybe you haven't thought about it, but you can simply go to the front page of this very website and find extensive reviews of the 4770k and 4670k which explain the differences and outline the performance differences and which usage scenarios benefit the HT on the 4770k. Put some effort into finding your answers before asking such a broad and vague question. It's not like it takes more than 2 seconds to find this answer anywhere.

You'll see a difference of up to 20% in video encoding and other apps that max out all cores at once using up to 8 threads simultaneously. Not much for regular gaming / general usage though. +100MHz clock speed is irrelevant for comparing K chips since they're all unlocked and you can simply bump the i5 up by +100Mhz to match.
