I've verified a W10 install ISO but the steps I'm following start w/it mounted as a drive letter under My Computer. If I double-click the file it wants to burn, shows me E: , but I need to get it showing as a drive letter.

So far I haven't found how to do that. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Mac

E: is a Drive Letter.

What Driver letter is?

Otherwise, this program let you Mount many file types as Drive.

Or explain in more details what you would like to do.

I've been trying to make an installation usb for W10 using an ISO for ver 1903. But the steps I have show the ISO file as a driver letter in My Computer (after you mount it). I'm using W7 Pro on my old laptop. Double-clicking the ISO file only brings up a burn DVD appl.

I may just use the 1909 media creation tool to create the usb. Just wondering if it will create it for UEFI. I could use Legacy/CSM mode in Bios but I think I need to use UEFI mode in Bios to be able to boot a GPT drive using Linux.

Thanks!

I believe Windows 10 has options to mount an ISO in a virtual disc drive by simply right-clicking on the file.

Use Virtual Clone Drive if you want to load an ISO file.

Use RUFUS if you want to burn ISO file to USB flash drive.

@JackMDS: Thanks.
@Ichinisan: Thanks I'm on a W7 laptop at the moment.

Yeah, double-click on my W7 laptop gives a DVD burn appl.

@mxnerd: Thanks. Rufus bricked a thumbdrive last time I used it. Don't even know how it could do that but it did. So I'm trying to find another appl.

Appreciate your time,

Mac

oh win 7. use daemon tools

edit: looks like daemon tools has gone adware. reddit has a list of free alternatives:
