How might a X800XTPE run on a s754 Sempon 2800+ system?

I picked up a X850XT a few days ago in preparation for a new s939 system I'm building, which includes a A64 Venice 3000+ and PCI-e motherboard, but I currently have a s754 Sempron 2800+ and a gig of PC3200 RAM already. I'm looking to play BF2 and HL2/CS:S mostly. Could the Sempron even keep up with a X800XTPE if I were to just go with that? I'm considering selling the X850XT if it would work just great to stick with the AGP card.

The Sempron will definitely hold back that card. Overclocking should help some. You defnitely need to get toward 3200+ to keep the cpu from bottlenecking. AMD64 3200 that is. Even then I would imagine there is some bottlenecking.

BT2 should run surprisingly well on that setup. It seems as though the game relies far more on a solid video card then it does on a solid cpu. In gamespots test a 3000+ was running at 59 fps to a 4000+ with the same setup, which only got 60 fps.
