Mexico could do some damage as well. They are the second largest buyer of US goods. We could get shut out of Mexico.

Let's look at the World. China and India have a growing middle class. We're talking huge numbers of people. Why couldn't other countries step in. It doesn't have to be America anymore. Vietnam is another developing country with a middle class that has an appetite for goods. China could easily serve Vietnam's needs. If Europe starts to feel Trump's wrath they too could look away from our services. The same with Canada.

Will Trump go thru. Are we headed to a global recession. How will the world respond.

Yeah, I've said it before, but demonizing and alienating our southern neighbor is not a good idea. We take for granted that Mexico is well-behaved on the world stage, but imagine if Mexico were to become a Chinese military ally, which is conceivable if Trump alienates them too much. We'd have our version of the Ukraine crisis.
