I used to have cats (2) around the house when I was a kid but no that I am out of the house no more.

BTW: I love cats 😀.
 
There are only 2 numbers of cats to have: 0 or 2.

If you have >2 cats they don't need you for attention and you might as well not have them. If you have 1 cat it pesters you for attnetion and is annoying.

2 is perfect.

Unless you don't like cats and then 0 is perfect.
